Can you visit the city when you're on a cruise?

Of course that is one of the good things about a cruise. You can visit lots of different places in one holiday! The cruise lines will also offer shore excursions around the places you visit so there will be plenty to do. One pointer though if you are getting off the ship at a port and plan to do a tour on your own (not with an organised operator) that city may require you to get a vise so do your reasearch :)
