Is Obama trying to turn the USA into a socialist state?

Like he's trying to do that thing with the health care and make it free for everyone.. Don't get me wrong, I think that's good, but I think that should be the limit. What I am scared of is I think this will path the way for more socialist-inspired reforms like making a social security system similar to Scandinavian countries.. Do you think this is possible, and are we right to be worried about this all?
