I went to my dr for pain meds not working anymore, the dr told me "if you had cancer we wouldnt care about giv?

cancer, we wouldnt care about incresing the strenghth, cause your going to die anyways" knowing my hubby was just diagnosed last month with an incurable cancer. How would you handle this problem?
