My friend that im getting fair close with informed me this morning that his nonna passed away last night. I'm not sure of how she died, how old she was etc, but i don't know what to say to him now in conversation. What things can i say that will comfort him? I don't know if i should you know talk to him about it so that he doesn't bottle things up but then i don't want to push him away. His only 17.

At first it started out nice, he would call and text and i would bring him food and offer to help him, the typical cutesy stuff, and the sex was ok, but after a while he stopped calling and texting and made excuses that he is busy or sleeping, he also didnt seem as happy to see me anymore, i called him twice that week and left one or two texts, so there is no way i was being needy or clingy. but of course any girl will start to get confused when her guy stops calling and would want answers. he said he is trying his best to be with me and that to try to understand him. maybe he is going through a tough time, but the least he could have done is actually tell me he needs his space so that i wouldnt have to keep asking and wondering why he's acting like this. and then one day he was reading my phone and saw a text i sent to my friend asking for advice on what to do, he got mad at me for it and thought i was hiding things. but then we talked it over and things were fine after i explained to him that i simply needed someone to talk to. he then didnt return my phone calls for the weekend and outright ignored me, i tried breaking up with him before but then i finally sent a text saying maybe we should just be friends cause it no longer feels like a real relationship, he even lied sometimes about not recieving texts, and he responds by saying, fine if thats what you want, i was so shocked by how he just didnt care, and then i asked why he stopped caring and he said he didnt know, and that to change things back to how they were before, so that we stop hurting each other. when i saw him again later that day, he ignored me again, and just avoided any questions or avoiding hugging and everything, he did like me before, he told his friends he thought i was sweet and stuff, but he was acting so distant and different. i tried to talk to him and he just laughed every thing off or just walked around, and i ended up crying from frustration, i wish i didnt, but it was really getting to me, his entire attitude changed all of a sudden and he comforted me and promised to call me later that night, and he didnt call, so the next day when i saw him and his friend, his friend tried to get him to finally talk to me to see if we can work things out and what was up, once again he tried to avoid me and walk around, until finally, i was like, ive been waiting for a while, i just need 5 minutes of your time, and we finally talked, and he said he has been going through some personal issues, and that he cant take care of me right now, he also said he lost interest in the last few days and just wanted to stay friends, i was so shocked and hurt that i started to cry and he apologized over and over for hurting me and said he never wanted to hurt me, he said he knew how hard i tried to make it work, and even after i left and he walked me home, he proceeeded to text me saying how sorry he was that he feels bad and that he just wanted to give us space to give us time to think and think about the things that get him confused, i replied back hours later saying he never gave anything a chance to see how good things could have been, and later on he came on chat and messaged me asking if we were still friends, and i told him i would leave him alone, and he asked why, and i was like, im just gonna take a step back, and he asked if we're still friends, and i said yes but that its hard for me, he always ignored me and made me feel like he was mad at me, but then i learned i did nothing wrong to him, i dont understand why he would want to be friends and want his space at the same time, how do i get him to gain interest in me again like from before, why am i so blind and what can i do to fix things and make it right, i saw him again today and we didnt even talk, i wish i knew what to do

I have social anxiety, i've had it for the longest time. Scandinavia and the Netherlands?

I think we can all agree that the Nordic countries of Scandinavia are very closely related, and looking at Germany and the Netherlands they are very similar as well. Often I dig around the internet researching cultural aspects of Scandinavian culture, specifically Norwegian. I've found that there are a lot of cultural similarities between the Dutch and the Danes and Norwegians, (and even Swedes sometimes). Their language may not be similar, but the food they eat are very similar, lots of traditions, architecture, etc., do the Dutch have a signifigant amount of Scandinavians in their history. They were not a country for as long as Germany or any Scandinavian kingdoms. I know there is a bit of Spanish in Dutch ancestry, along with German, is there also a large portion of Scandinavian ancestry in the Dutch, if so how much? What are your opinions of the cultural similarities and/or other similarities the Dutch have with Scandinavia?

Take some bug repellant, suntan lotion, two rolls of toilet paper, a towel and washcloth, a flashlight, a lighter, and a couple emergency candy bars. Bring a swimsuit.That should do you, especially as you are going with so many people. Don't stray off by yourself. Let someone know where you're going, and who you're going with. If you do not know these people well you're camping with, make sure they know people know where you are and who you went there with. I've lived in Denmark for a year and I've traveled to Norway and Sweden. I found it easiest to make friends in Norway, but maybe that's because I only went to Oslo which is a big city, whereas in Denmark I lived in a small town. So I suggest you go for major cities only. As a tourist you will probably want to stay in a hostel so you can make friends among your roommates and while cooking your food in the kitchen.
